The VC 3 has the extra led in the centre for rod location at night. This led is auto switched by a small photo cell so its only on in the dark.. I tried and tested this model for a week in france and they performed great through three stormy days of solid rain, the batteries lasted all week and they also helped me bank some nice fish. click here.
